For Earth Day 2006, musicians in the Illinois River Basin converged on Kooter Brown's Music Tavern to play 3 days and nights of live music for STIR. One day, while driving, a song came to Dennis Tibbits. He pulled over and wrote down the lyrics that poured forth, and "Chicken Poop" made its debut at the Earth Day Weekend Jam and Motorcycle Rally.
In fact, the audience requested it several times over the weekend, and the song gained a life of its own. Here's Eddie Glenn, who bounded onstage to add a squawking backup that had the audience roaring with delight!
No wait... This is a pic of Granny Sowers, raising money for STIR. But trust me, Eddie and Rickey Ray were up there just doin' their magic!
After Earth Day, Rickey Ray of Ray Ranch Recording Studio brought together a great group of talented local musicians who named themselves The Foul Pluckers, and began recording "Chicken Poop" over a series of sessions. It was gruelling and meticulous, and all of that perfection has resulted in the lively tune!

Chicken Poop
by Dennis Tibbits (04-17-2006)
Chicken poop, chicken poop, chicken, chicken,

Many years ago, when I was a boy,
We had clean lakes and rivers that we could enjoy,
